New Draft Information For Baseball, Softball, and Tee Ball
The league is implementing new draft guidelines in order to ensure a more competitive environment for the kids.
- Teams will now be capped at twelve (12) players per team.
- The number of teams will be dependent on the number of coaches that volunteer.
- Anyone that registers after the available player slots have been filled will be put on a waitlist, and will gain a spot in the order they registered as additional coaches volunteer or if any non-waitlisted players drop.
PLAYERS STAYING WITH A PREVIOUS TEAM
During registration, parents must request the player(s) to return to their prior season’s team. All other players need to attend Skills Day and be entered into the draft. Parents may request their player to return to a previous team if they played for that team within the last 3 seasons. These requests are not guaranteed and the player should be prepared to attend Skills Day unless notified by the Board before the draft. Parents (not coaches) may appeal to the Community Baseball & Softball League Board for an exception to this rule, but must demonstrate a legitimate need and not a preference.
ROSTER SPOTS FOR COACHES PLAYERS
Teams 10u and up will be allowed three (3) coaches on the roster with whose coaches kids are guaranteed a spot on the team. All other coaches will be deemed volunteer helpers and their child is not guaranteed a spot. Teams 8u and below will be allowed four (4) coaches on the roster whose coaches kids are guaranteed a spot on the team. All other coaches will be deemed volunteer helpers and their child is not guaranteed a spot.
